With a nod to her work as an interior designer, Dara Kay Barker’s love of vintage textiles from around the world informs all of her artwork. Painting on paper, canvas, linen, and wood, her appreciation for fabrics and worn surfaces is evident. Inspired by the philosophy of wabi-sabi and the beauty found in imperfection, Dara applies layers of paint and wax to create pieces with visual texture and rich patinas.
